About the Editor

Dr. Uma Kapila is a distinguished economist, academic, author, and editor with extensive experience in teaching and researching the Indian economy.

She taught Indian Economy to undergraduate students for more than 42 years and retired as Reader from the Department of Economics, Miranda House, University of Delhi.

An Honours graduate of Miranda House, University of Delhi, she earned her M.A. and Ph.D. from the Delhi School of Economics.

Dr. Kapila has been associated with Academic Foundation in an editorial capacity and has authored and edited several widely used books on the Indian economy, economic policy, banking, and finance.

Her publications are recognised for their comprehensive coverage and contributions to the study of India's economic development.
