The State Level Public Enterprises (SLPEs) are an effective tool to accelerate the growth of core sectors of the economy. The initiatives taken by the visionary leaders during the five-year plans, the role of SLPEs in terms of contribution to the Indian economy has been impressive. The present book aimed to analyse the performance of SLPEs in India. It has defined the importance and the role of SLPEs towards achieving self-reliant economic growth. It has provided a more comprehensive financial analysis of SLPEs’ performance that includes various financial indicators like Investment, Turnover, Net profit, Net worth, Return on Equity (RoE), Return on Investment (RoI), Labour productivity, Budgetary support, State GDP, Turnover, Net profit and loss, Accumulated profit, Number of employees, Total return on capital employed, Debt turnover ratio, Return on equity, Return on investment. Finally, the book has come out with suggestions for improving the performance of SLPEs in India.
