About the Book

Ageless India, with enchanting, ethereal images of a land that is often mysterious, its layered histories enticing the senses, creating room for wonder, all merging seamlessly with the vitality and assertive energy of the present. Rarely do past centuries jostle and fight for space with the contemporary, as in India. Write your private stories in these books as you traverse the past and the present of an unusual civilisation, to later share the experiences with those you love.

About the Author(s) / Editor(s)

Serena Chopra, a graduate in English Literature and Mass Communication, was an entrepreneur for more than 20 years before returning to her twin passions of photography and journalism in 2004. Her first body of work from Bhutan was exhibited in solo shows in New Delhi, Bhutan and New York. A publication of this work, Bhutan: A Certain Modernity was released in 2007.

Serena offers the viewer a portal into the lives of her subjects. She has explored the lives of resident Tibetan exiles at Majnu Ka Tilla, Delhi; has participated in a photo exhibition during the Bonjour India Festival (2013) covering French heritage in Chandernagore; has photographed Naga sadhus during the Kumbh Mela (2010) in Haridwar and during Shivratri (2013) in Varanasi. Currently, she is working on a project in Kedarnath, post the cloud burst tragedy of 2013.

Malvika Singh, publisher of the monthly journal Seminar, is a well known columnist.

Malvika initiated and edited the India magazine, the first of its genre, that explored the many facets of India, her people and cultures.
