PREFACE : 

A futuristic vision, integrity of intentions, nobility in thought and an indomitable spirit were needed to give 
wings to a dream which, with the strength of its own convictions, scaled insurmountable heights. 
The annals of history bear testimony to the unmatched success attained by what began as a small endeavour
to offer quality education; a right blend of western progressive thought and Indian culture; to the glorious 
status it enjoys today, that of an educational institution of unparalleled repute. Its achievements have always 
been accorded the recognition it so truly deserves. At this significant milestone in the trajectory charted by 
Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School, it becomes mandatory for us to introspect, review and reflect on our
 strengths and weaknesses, accomplishments and misgivings. Keeping in view the vision and goals we started 
with, it is now time to take stock of the past and plan for the future. Once again, it is time to rededicate ourselves 
to the cause and keep the torch aflame. Revisiting the history of R S Junior Modern School and documenting its 
progress opened vistas of invaluable insights, some rendered misty in the ravages of time, some still resonating 
with energy, replete with clarity and relevance. It was an interesting and rewarding exercise, which instilled faith in 
our own abilities to administer the best, offer the latest; thereby delivering excellence while upholding values true to 
the Modern doctrine. The success of the eminent alumni of this institution, in their chosen fields, attributes immensely 
to the school's unprecedented nonpareil Preface M a n j u R a j p u t status and persona. This volume is our tribute to all 
those who have contributed in making the school what it is today. I feel privileged to present before you a repertoire
 of images— innocent, real and surreal, evoking nostalgia and pride, of a place where conformity and restraint go hand
in hand, where creativity is fostered and harmony promoted. Within its pages are glimpses of a dream that the founder 
saw, and its growth and evolution over fifty years. This book is our tribute to that great visionary, Lala Raghubir Singh. 
'The Milk Break and After' is a travelogue of a long and satisfying journey. It has been written in such a way that you can
 hop on and off as you like. Dip into it as you want or read it from cover to cover. It is here that we pause to look ahead with 
even greater determination in our quest for self-realisation, for we know it cannot be achieved by the weak-willed.
