About the Editor
Dr. Uma Kapila is an economist, academic, author, and editor who has taught Indian Economy to undergraduate students for more than forty-two years.
She retired as Reader from the Department of Economics, Miranda House, University of Delhi, and has served as Editorial Director at Academic Foundation.
An Honours graduate of Miranda House, University of Delhi, she earned her M.A. and Ph.D. from the Delhi School of Economics.
Dr. Kapila has also served on the Planning Commission Study Group on Agricultural Strategies in the Eastern Region of India for the Seventh Five Year Plan.
She is the author of Oilseeds Economy of India (1982), published by the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi, and has authored and edited numerous books on the Indian economy, banking, finance, and economic policy, including works co-edited with Raj Kapila.
