Possibilities and Prospects
India's Energy Transition: Possibilities and Prospects provides a comprehensive examination of India's evolving energy sector, highlighting the challenges, opportunities, and policy considerations involved in achieving energy security and sustainable development. Written by Ram Kumar Mishra and V. Balaji Nagendra Kumar, the book explores the complexities of India's energy requirements and the possibilities for transforming the country's energy and power sectors.
India's rapidly growing economy, increasing population, and expanding industrial activities have created significant demands on its energy infrastructure. Ensuring reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy supplies remains a major challenge for policymakers, energy professionals, and development institutions. The book examines these multidimensional issues and emphasizes the importance of effective planning, technological advancement, and policy reforms in addressing the country's energy needs.
The publication focuses particularly on the challenges faced by India's power sector, including infrastructure development, energy availability, operational efficiency, and the need for improved institutional and regulatory frameworks. It discusses the prospects for India's energy transition within the context of existing government policies, economic conditions, and practical realities.
The authors examine the importance of developing a balanced and sustainable energy strategy that can support economic growth while addressing environmental concerns and long-term energy security. The book highlights the role of government initiatives, public sector institutions, technological innovation, and strategic investments in strengthening India's energy infrastructure.
By combining policy perspectives with an assessment of sector-specific challenges, India's Energy Transition: Possibilities and Prospects offers valuable insights into the future direction of India's energy development. It encourages a better understanding of the measures required to build a more efficient, reliable, and self-sufficient energy system.
This book is a valuable resource for policymakers, energy sector professionals, power industry executives, economists, researchers, academicians, and students interested in energy economics, sustainable development, infrastructure planning, public policy, and India's energy transition.
